taken this day before me, the undersigned, one of His Majesty's Justices of the Pence in and for the said Colony, who states:-

I am hong Mat, I am a coffin-boat owner residing at io.

47, Eattery Street, Yau Ma Ti. On the 28th. of the 2nd. Moon (24th. March) I was sitting at the door of the lung ah Hospital, a man who said his name was Cheong Cho Ting engaged me to take a dead body from

No. 305, Des Voeux Road and have it conveyed to Tai Ping in Tung Kun.

I agreed to do so for $155.00 The body was the dead body of the

photograph shown me. The body was placed in a hamper carried from

the house to a steam launch enguged by me and afterwards transferred

to my boat. The body was then taken out of the hamper and placed in

hold of my boat. My boat was taken in tow by another launch engaged

by me and toned away towards Cap Sui Mun en route for Chik tan where

I was told by Cheong Cho Ting it was to be met by one of Admiral Hd

Gunboat named the "Kwong Hang". Cheong Cho Ting also went by the 81

launch.
